Embroidery, Heat Transfer, & Silk Screen Manager Needed

The Embroidery/Heat Press Manager is critical to the success of Uniform Advantage. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s Decorative Services Department within the distribution center. This person will manage a staff of up to 15 Embroidery and Heat Press Operators. The purpose of this position is to provide skilled “on-the-floor” decision-making and management responsibility in the specific areas of decorative services operations including:

• Order Management - Oversees the production planning of the Embroidery, Heat Press and potentially Screen Printing Department.
•Production Management- Supervises the production of customized orders on the shop floor. The process entails acquisition of work-orders; establishing efficient printing and embroidery routines according to the production schedule; monitoring employee efficiency and quality.
•Personnel Management - Responsible for leading, training, supporting and measuring the performance of the associates within the department.
•Equipment Maintenance - Establishes and manages the facilities preventative maintenance program for all shop equipment.
•Safety Management - Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Embroidery & Heat Press Department safety program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Plan, implement and review and adjust the production schedule for the job
•Determine the human and material resources required to meet production needs
•Manage human and material resources to meet production targets
•Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
•Develop and implement a standard operating procedures for production operations, while insuring the SOPs are being adhered to
•Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
•Set and monitor product quality standards
•Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives
•Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
•Determine and implement improvements to the production process
•Prepare and maintain production reports
•Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
•Estimate production costs
•Set and manage production budgets through the implementation of cost control programs
•Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management
Required Skills
•Embroidery Machine Operation - Advanced profiency required
•Garment Hooping - Advanced proficiency required
•Heat Press Operation - Intermediate proficiency required
•Extensive personal experience utilizing embroidery decorating, heat transfer and silk screen printing methods is required.

Work Environment
•The distribution center is subject to moderate noise levels due to mechanical and computer equipment.
•Our Fulfillment Order Pickers will often work near moving mechanical parts and will occassionally work in high places.
•The employee will frequently be exposed to high temperatures and will occasionally be exposed to cold temperatures
•The employee will often be working near moving mechanical parts.
Required Experience
•5+ years of management experience in decorating/customizing production environment for uniforms and apparel is essential.
•Strong Problem solving, mechanical aptitude and attention to detail skills
•Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
•Strong work ethic, including team and goal orientation.
•Self motivated, positive attitude
•Above average reading comprehension, written and verbal communication.
•Ability to undertake a wide variety of tasks

Computer Software Proficiency
•Design Shop Software - Advanced proficiency required
•Microsoft Office Excel and Word Programs- Advanced proficiency required
•Skilled in a broad spectrum of apparel decoration equipment and software to include; manual and automatic printers, single and multi-head embroidery machines, heat press machinery, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, and digitizing software.
