He's right, it has to be something that peopl will remember.
We our Worn Identi-tees. It has worked well so far.
The company we bought out was merely "A-Town Printing"
(we live in a town that starts with A) and they didn't last too long for numerous reasons, but the name got lost in the shuffle. Good Luck with choosing!

Just a thought-

Not nessecarily, infact you might find that as you grow ppl might end up calling you Impress Ink...
I know a lot of ppl in the surrounding communities call us "Worn Id"

Good Luck!

Almost named my company Viking Embroidery, Given the fact that I am a 6'6" and 100% Swedish but I ended up with pride stitch embroidery ... .

My advice, take something simple, and something off the wall and try to combine them. Naming can be the hardest part.

Naming:

If you are in a small town, using the towns name is ALWAYS a good thing because small local towns like using local people and like hearing the towns name. If you are in a large city go with the catchy name. Remember make sure they can spell the name of your company like it sounds. Simple is always good.

On a side note, the name of your company really makes no difference, do you offer a quality product, do you stand behind your product, etc. This is what really matters. CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL SELL YOUR NAME

I have to disagree
years ago when i wasn't a printer there was 3 print shops in the area, 2/3 had (town name) (a+) Printing..or how ever they worded it. The 3rd company was Endless Ink Printing. The name not only caught my attention but it sounded a lot more fresh compared to the others. People that walk into the shop want to see it looking nice, tight, and clean, nothing old. Of course customer service matters and quality of your prints matters, but people dont look at that right away; you have to reel your customers in with your apperence and name before you show them the quality of your work!

and Worn Identi-tees is a awesome name laurie!

@Justin_PalmTees

Any name is good as long as your proud of it and it represents you, because lets face it your marketing yourself and your services. If you have a plain name it's gonna give your company a presence that you are plain.

My company is Skiddem Screenprinting and although the name doesn't mean much to someoene when they first get to know me, they soon remember me and my name as a sign of quality in what they are ordering.

So you can go off the wall if you want, just make sure it represents you because your the one that has to deal with it and changing names after a few years will truly confuse your customers.

Think about what you like, what represents you and you will soon find a name that fits. "Endless Ink" as stated in this discussion seems more fresh and new than "A-Town Printing" (you mentioned this name) is more tacky than anything. I personally don't care for anything like H-Town, A-Town, T-Town.

For a local business I prefer something different rather than standard but it shouldn't be something so clever that only you "get". If you're planning to sell on the net its best to incorporate key words (words must be hypenated for SE's to read as separate words) to obtain better SE rankings.

So... did you come up with anything yet??

I know I am working on starting up a small sideline sewing business.
Mostly mending, scrub shirts, baby items. Jobs I can do quick and easy.
I thought about using something with the word 'basket' but thought that would be jsut like everyone else... I ended up with the following:

devine notions (the logo truned out soo tight!)

Thanks Ghost and Eric on our Screen name... its fun!

Laurie:)
