Forums:
My brother and I are interested in sublimation printing and the products one can print on. We are trying to figure out how to put graphics on PVC sheeting to make cool looking Pit Boards for R/C racing. The ones we have seen are really cool looking but we could not figure out how these are made.
So, my question is: can any material that contains Polyester be used as a blank such as PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and Polycarbonate (Lexan)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sublimation and PVC
Heath,
You can sublimate just about everything with polyester in it.
I don't know what a PIT BOARD is.... but there are several products that are flat you can use.. ie. FRP, Corion (kitchen counter top material) etc.
There are also quite a few coated metals, such as brass and alum.
Just to add to the mix...you can purchase the chemical to sublimate to and apply it just about anything!
