I have a 4 year old Gerber DCS1500 sample cutter. Only used for about a year and a half and have since moved on to another technology for my applique work. The machine is in good shape.

We did have one for the year or so we used it, I have not checked to see if it is still in affect, but I'm guessing it has lapsed by now. The machine is in good shape though, we just moved on to other technologies as our shop grew.

I know a company that wants to cut "carbon fibre" fabric...would this machine be capable of that?

We used it mainly for felt, twill and jersey fabrics, but the technical literature say it can cut leather. Not sure about the particular fabric you are asking about. i am including a link to a website that includes the info.
