I have been told by manufacturers that DTG does not work on 100% Polyester shirts. We do a lot of team uniforms which are mostly made from poly wicking material. What do you know about this and is anyone doing it successfully? I do not have a DTG printer, but for team uniforms, if the ink would work, would certainly make a lot of sense.

We have had no luck with various pretreats on 100%poly. We have a Neoflex and have cotton and generally 50/50 luck. They are selling a new pretreat they call poly light, but it works on whites better than 50/50 cut dupont pretreat. We tried stuff from garment ink (I think) bad luck on anything. Do screen on poly. easier.
dtg is a pain in the butt actually.

The Kornit system does work on polyester, but you will need to apply a LOT of pretreatment solution and give it about 20 seconds to comfortably settle before putting the ink down. If it is 100% polyester you need to do double whites, which eats up your ink fast.
The short answer from my experience is that Kornit's printers can do 100% poly, but not at realistic production speed and not without paying for extra ink.

don't waste your money. dtg does not work on polyester. Get a plotter and there are all types of vinyl that you can use. Best for you is to look for the closest trade show in your area. You will find all sorts of materials and instructions.

Supposedly, Anajet makes a white for Poly, I would contact them for info and samples.http://www.anajet.com
