12' x 36" Dryer

Chaparral Model 3612 electric dryer, 220V 3 phase, (believe can connect to single phase as well) 57 amp dryer, about 20 years old in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. Well maintained with the great people at Chaparral, now Workhorse, in AZ, all parts and technical help available with a smile.

I am the original owner, actually had 2 of these identical dryers at the same time over the past 20 years, selling due to retirement.

Dryer has 3' in feed, 3' out feed , 36" wide belt, has a couple of minor tears for past several years but keep on rolling w/o any problem or need to replace, tracks excellently with--forwards or backwards. Digital control panel controls 3 12" x24" heat panels, couple of which have been replaced within the past 2 years. New heat probe installed last month. $3,000 negotiable.

FOB North Hollywood, can help with shipping at buyers expense.

Hi,

I Have a Chaparral Conveyor Dryer model Chap 3612, single phase, 220 volts, 11,840 watts, 57 amps and 60 cycles but I need to know the electric diagram of how the cables are connected in the electrical panel which is on the bottom of the conveyor dryer.

Are you sure those panels aren't bigger?

I have the 2412 and it has 3x24 panels and only draws like 42 amps... I'll have to look at the stamp again to see what it states.

Great dryer though! I wish I had the 36" model!

Hello Peter!
I hope all is well.
I bought the" sister" of this dryer over a year ago for a friend in the
business. ALL of Peter's equipment, including this piece is in "pristene"
condition! Period! Peter ran a clean,well maintananced shop, and his
equipment shows! Anyone starting a shop, or growing a shop, will not
find a better "needle in the haystack" with Peter's machines. And the best
part is that you are buying it from one of the "real gentleman" of the
industry, who paved the way for you young "whippersnapers" to enter
this world of screen printing. He is a real "gem", and I only met him once!

I gotta say the same! I just bought the Blackbody flash dryer with attachments from Petter, and Its super clean and in excellent working conditions. So if someone are interested in buying some of his equipment for sale, Do it with confidence he is a nice Honest guy...

I just double checked mine... my plate says 40 amps and I'm running single phase so that should be more than if I was running it in 3 phase.

Also FYI to potential lucky buyer... mine is wired single phase but could be switched to 3 phase so I don't see why this one wouldn't be the same. The only thing that actually runs 3 phase are the panels which of course can be wired single phase. The control box and circuit is single phase no matter how it's wired (99% sure of that).

Hello Gilligan!
Infared panels come in a variety of watts per in. which converts to watts
per foot. 8 watts per in -15 watt per in is very common as the panels are
use in other industries as well. So an example is a 12x24 can be 2000watts
or 3000 watts, a 12x36 panel can be 3000 watts or 4500 watts plus or minus.
Times these calulations by the number of panels, then the voltage,phase
and you will get your answer. Kinda like a light bulb, with all being the same
size, but one is 40 watt,60watt,100 watt. I hope this helps!

I also just noticed in Peter's post that he has 12x24 panels!
It should read 12x36 panels which would consume 1/3 more power
tan a 12x24

You're absolutely correct, they are 12" x 36" panels.

Just wanted to make sure you represented your gear right... were selling yourself short! :)

Again, someone will end up with a great dryer. I moved my press from one side of the room to the other and all I had to do was flip a switch to make the belt reverse!

Panels have gone out in mine and I didn't even have to replace them, just take them apart and repair the broken connection, cake and practically FREE.
