Phone Number on a HAT??

Robert Young's picture

Ok , when is the last time you personally took a phone number off a hat, or shirt or jacket, etc? To me, just my opinion.. the NAME is the important thing.. with that and ANY smart phone and you can call without ever needing the phone number.

I ask because nearly daily we are digitizing designs with phone numbers where if they would delete that number the actual LOGO could be larger and much nicer. But for some reason many clients are Stuck on believing a number on a garment is important.

What do you think?? thanks in advance.. maybe I am just being contrary.

I always let them know if they think they have to have the phone number on their hat, that putting it on the back over the arch is a possibility. It costs them extra but is another place. I always hate people stareing at my hat long enough to take a number off from it.....Laugh.

I guess the customer looks at it differently.....why not have the phone number in if its not costing more? so they get more advertising space for the same price.

I agree, I want YOU to remember my company NAME.. not my phone number or email or web address.... in today's world those are EASY to come by without actually ever knowing... I mean if you lost your phone how many people in your contact list would you be able to CALL?? very few of mine.. too used to just pressing a button on the phone.. same with vendors and other businesses I deal with..

Today for lunch I was out and just told my car (ford fiesta.. nothing fancy) to call a local restaurant.. IT DID.. I placed my to-go order and just stopped by to pick it up... .ALL I needed to remember was their NAME

I try to talk them out of the phone number, but we've been putting web addresses on some lately.

Oh, unless they're doing a give away,,,then, we've put the phone number and web site on them. I've done that a couple times too.

Digitized same design for LC and Backsize, client asked to keep phone number and website on back size design and remove from LC size, it depends on design complexity and size as well.
