designs won't transfer to embroidery machine

I have a Toyota 850. I uploaded some designs in the morning by computer. I use Wilcom DecoStudio e1.5 I hava a BF-810 USB to serial adaptor. The machine never got turned off, the computer and software was left running and the connections were still connected. That afternoon, I went to upload a design and the machine will not recieve them. Any suggestions

If someone has a suggestion, I would love to hear it! I've been having the same trouble with my Barudan - trying to save on the USB and then uploading to my machine. I try to clear out all files as I don't need them...I just experimented and it seemed like when I tried to save with a file name that had a space in it, it wouldn't appear on my machine (after numerous attempts), but when I went back and took the space out it saved just fine....? Sometimes it will seem like something doesn't save, but then lo-and-behold two days later, there it is...!

When saving a file to the barudan on a floppy or cf card the file can only be 8 characters long. They can be numbers or letters (I always use capital letters) but no spaces. I don't use USB's but I think the barudan only accepts 8 characters.

D,
I'm assuming you have the machine directly attached to the computer, yes? If so try unplugging the connector and wait a minute or so and then plug it back in. Windows should recognize the drive. If it does not then reboot the computer and try it again.

It's also possible that you are not saving the file to the proper drive. I don't use wilcom but when you save the file make sure the drive you are saving to shows up. This is usually done by clicking file and then save as and then selecting the location (machine drive).

All I can say is the new Wilcom software is a disaster! We upgraded from 2006 and have had nothing but issues especially with sending to our barudans through the serial. The software crashes over and over and over, if you look at it wrong it crashes, I think integrating with Corel is the problem, Corel is so unstable and getting worse with every new version, I used to be a die hard Corel fan now I am eyeing illustrator strongly, Corel always blames the users for their software being unstable always.

Anyways we reboot Wilcom and machine manager often other wise it forgets how to send a design or completely forgets the machines I set up dozens of times already.

In fact If I cannot get Wilcom figured out soon I am looking for a refund it is ridiculous how nasty this software is now, and for you PC guys this is installed on a brand spanking new PC solely for Wilcom with 16 gigs of ram i7 processor and a one gig gfx card.

After all the ranting sorry try rebooting all the software then send. Go into your task manager and make sure there is no Wilcom process still running as well.

tried all that, none of it worked. disconnected everything, went home for the holiday, came back plugged it all back in and it worked. And yea wilcom has been a pain for a while. I have had to reinstall 5 times in the last two years. Thanks for all the replies. still don't know why it stopped, but now it's working.
