US Veteran Needs Some Help.

Hi everybody. I am a US Navy Veteran, a full time dad of 3 Kids(wife is a CNA and is going to college for RN) and a free lance graphic designer that works from home. I recently found a niche that I am pursuing. I would like to print custom tshirts for some military squadrons I was associated with during my career. I have the designs down pat but I have no one to ask anything else about like about machines, inks and tools I don't know about yet.. With 3 kids I am on a extreme budget and I am looking for a DTG that is refurbished or used in good shape if there is such a thing. I am a sponge for information so please can anyone share with me the "do and dont's"? It has to be a DTG due to the detail of the graphics. Realistically I probably got $3,000 to work with. Can I get started with this and grow or am I screwed?

don't bother, it's more headache than it's worth. Find a contract printer to produce your garments. There should be plenty of them in your area. If you can't find any, drop me a line and we can do it for you or get you in touch with somebody closer.

I agree with BlueMoon, Your budget is tight to find a reliable DTG along with the heat press and misc materials you'd need. My recommendations is to either find a contract printer as bluemoon mentioned, or drop the digital details in your designs to screen print them; You could defiantly get the ball rolling with $3,000 for some used screen printing equipment
