Help with Toyota 860 "sewing motor lock"

Hi everyone~ long story short. I got the above error message tonight on my 860. The needle take up bar is in the position of placing the needle socket in it's home spot. I was doing a manual needle change to fix another issue.
I'm thinking I may have to go into the dip switch panel and run a test?
OR...how/can I remove the needle socket from the needle take bar...manually is that ok??? Thanks for anyone that can help or point me in the right direction !!!

The safest way is to turn machine off, lower the needle bar till needle socket is in position to go into holder, use screw driver to turn the needle rack until the needle is in position so when you manually raise the needle bar - the needle holder will remain behind. Return the needle rack back to place by turning the screw - remove the needle from the rack. Start the machine - if error occurs turn screw to eliminate error (forgot error name). The machine still thinks it has the needle an upon thread change it will try to remove the needle (that is why you removed it) and the thread tube will be put in place, then the needle can be put back in the rack.

Otherwise use a small screwdriver to pry the needle from the bar - don't use the tab where the thread passes through - just between the needle bar and the needle holder.

Hi Chovy

I am stock in same issue

When I do test test step 3 (when needle holder is in heedle rack, needle bar is going down instead of up
