Etsy vs Amazon

Hello,

I'm starting to sell my designs. Does anyone have experience selling on both? I understand Etsy has is more catered towards 'custom, hand made' items, but Amazon also has more potential customers, which means more sales.

Any thoughts on either, or both?

Thanks!

Why don't you try this two? Etsy is mainly for handmade items, many designs are special and innovative. Amazon is popular and maybe more customers, but i think you can try both!

I agree, Amazon is more user friendly.

I have experience buying and selling in Etsy but not Amazon. Why not sell on both though?

Amazon is getting tougher and tougher to sell on when competing with startups in China that steal your designs and sell for next to nothing. Trying to contact Amazon to complain about it is like pulling teeth! MANY Amazon apparel sellers are looking into their next moves. It's really bad compared to just a few years ago and there doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the Amazon tunnel unfortunately. It's always best to build your own site and use social media to build your audience.

I do have a better experience in terms of buying with Amazon. I'm already comfortable with them. By the way, I'll try Etsy the next time I consider to purchase.

Etsy is niche for handmade goods, i think it is better than amazon though there are more customers at amazon.
