Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any system for filing there films and record pellons that works well for them. We are currently using an index card file system filing by client name in alphabetical order. I am fairly happy with it though the owner is looking to move into the future with something a little more technological. I am aware of the Jaleema system. Does anyone use that? If so, are you happy with it? Does anyone use a digital pellon system?
Thanks for your help,
Ian Keller

Re: Film and record pellon filing
Hi Ian,
I wish there was a computer that was crash proof. That way all that type of work could be done and forgotten about.
The best thing to do...I figure...would be to do both. Keep those old antiquated index cards and files, then move into the cyber world slowly. The old ways are time tested and proven to work, the new ways are and are not. There's a lot of backing up files on disks.
I just got back on line because of a crash that wiped out nearly half of seven years of work. If I had kept using those old cards and other crap...well...I wouldn't be typing right now.
So tell the owner to read this...as it comes from someone that has been doing this biz since 1981 and has been working with computers since 1984.
Some old ways are best kept.
