I'm thinking of buying a used single head (or two) from Prodigi, They come with same as new waranty for a few thousand less than new. I don't know any one who has used these machines and would appreciate any and all feedback, reliability, service, ease of use, comparisons, etc.

I looked at prodigy's and compared them to the Amaya XT. The XT blew them out of the water in my own opinion. But to each his own. I thought the prodigy was OK, but it didn't stich as well or as fast as the amayas when they were demo'd to me. I bought amayas. But I really think each person likes different features and likes different machines. Good Luck! I just figured faster = less time and more money.

ive used prodigi before theyre actually a pretty good bank for your buck. how much is the machine if you dont mind my asking

11k with all software and accessories,hoops,cap frames ,training,etc.

yeah id do it, prodigi has interchangeable heads for tajima. you can actually stick a tajima head on a prodigi machine. the macine has a 500 * 360 sewing field 1000 spm its a good machine mostly steel construction. what year is it though does it have the lcd screen??

Its a two year old machine and does have the lcd. Also, when you mentioned that the heads are interchangable with tajima, are alot of the parts interchangable(meaning the heads are similar in construction), or that the either head will mount to the machine, but the heads are actually nothing alike?

sorry misunderstanding the parts are interchangeable. the heads wont mount on like zip zap but the basic construction is the same. the take up levers on the prodigi is the same as the older generation fx series of tajima. forget the new tajimas that machine got a whole new overhaul im talking about the older heads of tajima. the the new prodigis actually look more solid than the newer tajimas. so to answer your question alot of the parts are the same. not exact like snap on the heads but parts from the heads can be found on other machines mainly tajima.

I haven't used these machines but I would question why a two year-old machine would be a few thousand less. If its a good machine it would only be slightly discounted after two years.

Trust me when I say this........Do not buy a prodigy machine. Especially not from Bob or Nick Matina. I have a lot of experience with Prodigy and they are junk. Although they may look like an older Tajima they are not even close. I have been around the embroidery business a long time. I have sold machine, worked for a leasing company that specialized in embroidery machines, and also ran my own shop. Prodigy is junk!!!

I'm in KY - Tajima is good and I have 2 of them (recently purchased another one from a private person on ebay). I don't own a Prodigy and didn't particularly care for the machine when I saw it at a show. I do use their software though and its reasonably good. The jerk who posted above was selling used Prodigi's not long ago when I was shopping for a second machine and then talks about how terrible they are disguised as someone else. Tells you a lot about who you are doing business with. I ended up with a 2 head Tajima from Stitch It. What a bunch of small time country yahoos backwoods rednecks. Good machine though.
mofia27 is actually Kyle McMinn. So full of it - met Kyle at a show a while back and he knows EVERYTHING (unfortunatly AFTER I bought from them). Not that I have anything against gay young men, just that after he tells you he knows so much and how much expeirence he has, you realize he's about a year out of secondary school. Anyway, he thinks he's pretty hot stuff - just look at his posts on here. They don't even have techs that work for them. Crap booth too.
For his brother or cousin or both, Stitchit is owned by a company who stole machines from hirsch a long time ago when they forgot they left them (HAPL leasing company left machines at apparently not-so-trustworthy places). Stitch it had some like new 15 heads for free. Since then, they ride on the back of Tajima machines - real hard to sell price after someone else bears the brunt of expense in marketing. Idiots. Really.
Then they start a leasing company (anchor) to get leases started and repo almost immediately on late pays, then re-sell the same machine over and over. Things got too questionable so they stopped.
They are so transparent - Tajimas are good machines, those guys are not. Used Tajimas are a dime a dozen as I found out. StitchIt has judgements against them and they lie. Be very very careful. They even have a crap rental program that has such horrible terms - they try to cover someone in payment and don't discuss costs. Pretadory practices...
