The cool thing with direct to garment printers is that although the printers really haven't improved much in the last two years since we bought our 4800 based machine, the inks have!
CMYK or 7 color inks- one major player has dropped out ( R & H) which was a very good ink. Jumping in to fill it's shoes with even better performance IMHO is DTGInks, and with a much more attractive price.
It is one of the best in terms of washability of the water based pigment which will work great in any Epson based printer. Cure time is fast- 350 F for 60 seconds.
Hey we even printed a guitar recently! With proper precoats all kinds of things can be printed on successfully.
I used DTGInks very successfully for months as a consumer. We were so happy with it that recently we have also become a distributor.
