automatic digitizing software

Hello I have been embroidering for many years now with my commercial Brother machine - single head 9 needles and I think it is about time that I start doing my own digitizing to hopefully save some money. What are your thoughts on automatic digitizing software? Thx.

Hi Nancy,

You can buy Automated digitizing software like corel drawings or Wilcom, but you may not acheive the results that you have been getting till now.

Automated digitizing is never a success, For quality digitizing you need to digitize the design manually. Some designs , such as simple line text can be automatically converted into stitches with medium quality. Logos on the other hand result in normal or worse look.

Try and download some demo versions of embroidery software. Try and automate a few designs .. if you really succeed - go for the full version of the software. Otherwise i would certainly suggest you learn the process of manual digitizing.

Sahel, I think what nancy-NYC is asking about are digitizing software that mainly do automatic digitizing. I don't know about CorelDRAWINGS, but Wilcom is NOT mainly an automatic digitizing software. Wilcom has a component that can do automatic digitizing, but mostly Wilcom is an on-screen manual digitizing software. nancy-NYC, I don't recommend software that primarily does automatic digitizing. Digitizing software that advertise to be able to automatically digitize designs is misleading.

EMBLady,

I totaly agree with you. Wilcom is majorly a manual digitizing software that has a automated digitizing component. Still we havent found neither wilcom nor any other software to be a success in automated digitizing.

Thanks guys. I guess it's too good to be true! I think Wilcom is to expensive for me LOL.
