Hi
I have just searched the threads and could't find anyhing about this subject. One of my customer doesn't pick up and pay his part of order. He ordered
$650 value order and paid $200 downpayment. While I was working on his hats he stopped by and I gave him 1 dozen hat.( I know I was stupid I shouldn't have done that). Its been 2 months and He doesn't pick up and pay rest of his hats. There is no receipt or bill about that order because I was busy at that moment. There are just text messages that show he has placed order. I am new in texas and don't know the rules here. The amount is not enough size for lawyer. Is there anyone that experienced something like that? How can I act for this issue? Should I call the police or forget about the money...
thank you
Re: customer doesn't pick up and pay...
Two things.... so far he has paid over $16.50 per hat ! (if you only gave him 12 and already got $200.00)
second thing.... NOW.. you hopefully realize you are NEVER TOO BUSY . From this point on MAKE TIME to quote/invoice/ etc.
The hats are complete, my guess is he will return at some point for another dozen.. at that time make sure you have an invoice that has the 200.00 removed. MAKE TIME
Sorry, but at least you are learning this lesson with a relatively small amount.

Dont worry Samulu, we have all done this when we start up. As Robert has said, you are NEVER TOO BUSY to write an invoice. You havent lost anything if you havent finished the order, but I suspect that you have. Fingers crossed that he will turn up again soon, they usually do.
If he has ordered them by text message then Im sure that constitutes as the order. It does over here.
Good luck. Learning by Doing is what we all do.
