I'm thinking of buying digitizing software but don't know where to begin. The only one I've looked into is Generations Master Works; but that cost if $1,900. I'll appreciate any direction anyone can give regarding value versus cost for any software you are familiar with. Thank you.
Re: Digitizing software
Hi Venessa,
I'm in the same boat, but I found some of the various companies out there will offer a free or reduced price demo. One might be good for one person, might not be good for others. So I recommend you check out some of the demos and see which one works best for you.

Re: Digitizing software
Well ... Software is complicated. Generations can get you by. I've used it before. I know we've all got to start somewhere, but in the grand scheme of software $1,900 for digitizing software is cheap cheap cheap. Wilcom Level 3 is almost $10,000.
Try to hit up eBay or maybe some local sewing stores, for a copy of Generations or you can also try 4D its another program. Don't know much about it however.
Sorry I'm not much more help than that.
Re: Digitizing software
You have to check out Floriani's Embroidery Suite 2009. It has 9 modules; you can buy what you need or want. Free support forum, 20 some how-to videos, online manuals for all modules, free training webinars, free upgrades, no dongles, lessons from a master digitizer (50 years in the business). The enitire suite is less than $1500.
I also have the Wings Pro Modular software which cost around $10,000. It has been retired. The Floriani software is far superior and easier to use. No commercial ties to Walt Floriani; Just a great product!

Re: Digitizing software
Hello I would suggest rather than purchasing the Software which costs $10,000 for the high end software like Wilcom and then hiring a person to do the digitizing, why don't you look at the option of having that service outsourced? There is a company called mambodigitizing.com which has the Wilcom Software and they are digitizing for $2/1000 stitches and have a US person in the US you can speak to. They also embroider the design to see if the digitizing will run well on your machine. Well thats my opinion anyways
