I am working on a design in Embird 8 and for the life of me I can not figure out how to put a border around the outside. I have tried to do an outline but the direction of stitch does not change to vertical when you are on the top and bottom, it stays horizontal. Instead of a neat looking border I get a very long line of horizontal stitches.
If anyone can help that would be wonderful.

Re: Embird Border
Hi, David. The outline stitch feature should give you a nice satin border (or zigzag, or whatever you are looking for), with the stitches going vertical at the top and bottom. You could use the column feature too (I prefer outline myself). If you have checked all your parameters and still you don't get a good border, you might try to reinstall your software. When I upgraded to the new version, I was having issues with the font engine. I had a computer crash and was forced to do a complete reinstall of the software and it works perfectly now.
Are you a memeber of the yahoo groups for embird? Great source of info and very helpful people.
Hey 1965: You're wrong. But I guess that's your choice, isn't it.

Re: Embird Border
David, hello
As I have seen in your post you are in a need to buy a professional embr. machine that cost about more than 10 000 USD (realy not so sure how much exactly)
I just cant figure out why you use such a software as Embird, which cost 300 USD (or less,I guess). Embird is not a solution for those that want to be professionals. Thats your choice anyway.
What I can sugest (in the case of the outline you trying to make), mail me your design and I will send the edited file to you back w/t the needed outline..
If you interested about cheeper professional machines, you may wanna mail me too..
Not from inside the continental US anyway

Re: Embird Border
Hey Liz, do you know what is Wilcom?
I am curious to make some competishions about doing some digitizing work with different softwares. Want to participate? Would be a unique chalange, isnt it?
Re: Embird Border
I dont use embird .... and depending on the version it may not support directional satin stitches. at any rate, there should be something along the lines of satin direction.
You Don't need to spend $10 Grand ... if you are in desperate need, you can always use an outside digitizer.
