embroidery startup

My company is getting into the embroidery business. We do fulfillment of dvd's and printed materials and we were going to outsource branded polo style shirts. Now they are asking me to look at the equipment to do it internally. Just curious if someone had some suggestions. I will have no experienced operators so I want something that's fairly easy to operate. I suspect we will be doing about 100 to 200 polo shirts a month. I assume it's basic embroidery. Company logo on a polo shirt. We will end up selling T-shirts as well but I suspect it's just a easy to oursource t-shirts and still have margin. thoughts???

Using an embroidery machine seems like a simple thing, right? Well, just like anything else, it will take time and practice.
I think you could probably get by with a one head 6 needle machine to start. If you have people working for you that can get the shirts going one after the other. If that is not fast enough for you, you will need more heads on a machine - more money of, course!
It takes a little practice to set things up on the computer and then to set the shirt up making sure you have the shirt lined up in your hoop, etc.
If you are going to make the jump into embroidery, you might want to think about other services that can be offered - embroidery on whatever your customer brings in!
Don't know if this helps, but it gives a little insight - I guess!!
Good luck!
