Epson 9890 44" wide format printer

Columbus, OH, United States

We purchased this printer used a few years ago and used it twice to verify it works. At the time we didn't have the space needed to properly use and store this printer, but when we moved into our new space we planned to use it. That never happened and it has sat in storage ever since. We thought it was just easier to stick with our Epson 1430s so that we weren't buying supplies for multiple printers. I'll tell you everything about this printer that I can, and that includes the good and the bad.

Local pick up only, please. We don't have pallets large enough to palletize the printer. Sorry. $550 takes it.

The Bad
The yellow print head is clogged and doesn't print. We used this printer for transparencies, so the yellow print head not working wasn't an issue for us. If you are looking to print nice custom graphics/images, you'll need to have the yellow print head cleaned/replaced.

When we purchased the printer we had someone pick it up and deliver it for us. They broke a few small pieces in transit, but nothing major. See photos.

The maintenance tanks are pretty much done for. One needs replaced, and the other is close to needing replaced. These can be purchased from B&H Photo for $35 each.

The light black ink cartridge either needs replaced, or you will need to purchase a cartridge chip resetter (I can explain this more in detail, but the cartridge in the printer right now does have a good amount of ink in it, but the printer just isn't recognizing it -- hence the chip resetter). inksupply.com sells the cartridge chip resetters for $70. A new light black Epson brand cartridge will run you a lot more than the cost of a resetter, so that's your call on which route to go.

The Good
We did purchase a full set of empty cartridges and a gallon of black ink when we first got the printer. All of the cartridges were filled and replaced before we used it. So all of the cartridges have a good amount of ink left in them, but they are all filled with black ink. If you need a printer for film output, this is perfect for you.

We will include the leftovers of the film roll that we purchased when we first got the printer.

1 gallon of fresh ink in brand new aftermarket cartridges.

Nice quality wide format printer for only $550.
