Re: FilmMaker 10 RIP software $400.00 OBO
Chiming in to say that FilmMaker is a great RIP for the right shop.
Upgrading from AccuRIP to FM was like going from a golf cart to a tank.
We produce very high-end fine art prints and retail posters.
We print beautiful 4-color process at 80LPI from an Epson T-series.
I hit the limits of what our previous RIP could handle. It's amazing what a truly professional RIP can do if you learn how to use it.
Great calibration features for linearizing film and then applying press curves which can also be set individually for really dialing in process.
And the 'choke' feature is key to controlling dot gain on hard-pixel supplied dither/stochastic art which is very common among some of my clientele.
Any way, I have no interest in promoting this RIP, I just like to chime in when gear pops up that I strongly recommend.
Important note, we use the XL+ version of FM 10 because we print 42" roll film; I think this version on offer one is limited to smaller format.
