I'm a screen printer, and I'm looking to expand my store with heat press equipment. What's the best route. Should I go all out and get a heat press and vinyl cutter, or can I just get a heat press and transfer paper to run through my Epson R1600? I'd like to eventually do shirts, window stickers/decals, rhinestones, etc.
I'd like the opinion of someone that's been through it before I spend the $$$.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Getting started in heat press business
i was in the same position about a year ago. I made the plunge and got myself a swingman heatpress and roland gx-24. My business was mostly screenprinting tees for schools, restos, businesses when they have events. Now i'm taking in stickers, banners, and one off prints on top of their order of screenprinted tees. Most of my customers tell me they like the fact that they can get it all under one roof.
