I am looking for some help with our film outputting device. We have an Epson Stylus Pro 4880, the software is the Wasatch SoftRIP version 6.7, the film is non-waterproof film 497-344-2-RL from Lawson Screen Supply, sprayed with 610 silicone release spray.
The ink on the film remains wet or tacky and it is transferring from one film to another when filing.
When we originally purchased the printer it was great then we had some problem with the setting when we replace an ink cartridge. The images were so light we couldn't use them to burn a screen. We made some adjustments to the settings and now it is dark again. The problem is we are outputting the jobs on repeat orders because the films are ruined once we file them.
I am wondering if there is a setting that is getting missed that could help us out, I am out of ideas. The manufacturers have been no help, of course this has never happened to anyone else. LOL!
Thanks in advance for any help,
Rockchick
Re: HELP! with my epson 4880
are you using OEM inks? You may need to download the proper ICC profile for this media.
You may be over saturating the film.
Re: HELP! with my epson 4880
So I had the same problem with Accurip. The problem was the setting in the rip software. Are you using all black? If so make sure that option is checked.
Hope this helps.
