Hobby Machine

My wife wants to do embroidery as a hobby and I was wondering what a good machine to get her is. I want to start off with something simple to use 1 head probably a few years old. She has about $5000 to use so I think about $3500-4000 for the machine and the rest for materials and garments to start with.
