How does one sell a T-Shirt Business - not the T-Shirts themselves?

Hi everyone,
I have a T-Shirt business that I took over from a passionate T-Shirt business owner when he left the US to go pursue other opportunities in Japan. I have realized after a year that making and selling T-shirts is not for me, I am not passionate about getting designs, envisioning them on a T-Shirt, getting them printed, marketing them and actually sell them. So now I am willing to let go of the business 'cause I think in the right hands the brand/business has good prospects and not strangle it.

The question I have is, how do I go about with finding someone who would be interested in taking over an existing T-Shirt business?
I am willing to let go of the whole business setup (website, email list of past customers, design rights, FB page), current inventory all at inventory cost + shipping if applicable.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Sidd Valicharla

Sidd,

I'm gonna be honest with this assessment. Basically the website and FB page have no worth. The customer list or design rights only have value if they are current and generating large revenue. Your equipment and inventory will have to be discounted because you can't sell inventory at what you paid for it wholesale.

What you are faced with is selling the assets not the business. Anybody doing due diligence will look at the net profit not what you have. Your best bet is to break up what you can sell and do your best trying to sell it. T-shirt shops are all over the place, start on the forums that cater to that crowd.

When I see a business wanting to sell because they are pursuing a better opportunity that tells me that the business was a hobby and not making enough profit to continue.

Like I said, hard assessment. Business is hard, liquidating is infinitely more difficult. Cut your losses and move on. Life's too short, spend your time on what's productive and what you want to do.
