Melco electronics same on EP1, EMC6,CH1, etc?

Does anyone know if the the printed circuit board, keyboard and the cable that connects the two are the same on the older Melcos? I am troubleshooting an EMC6 but have not been able to locate like components to repair.
While working on a Melco CH1 chenille machine yesterday I noticed the keyboard is layed out exactly the same. Although it is a newer machine it also has the capabilities of running the EMC6 as well as several other models (by using up, down, and alt it will toggle through the different models the electronics is compatible with)
If they are indeed the same it would make it much easier to find/purchase the needed components and get back in working order.
Any info or leads greatly appreciated.

The chenille machine, EMC 1, EMC 6, and EMC 10 are all part of the same family of embroidery machines by melco. The single head machine as well as the multihead machines have similiar hardware. you can also attach the older ep 1's in a daisy (loop) chain. The parts are interchangable for the most part. You can find some parts on ebay (buyer beware) or you can contact Melco directly. To order parts you can call melco, and order or ask them to email you the parts manual for your particular machine. Some of the repair parts we have ordered through Melco are still brand new, or you can get rebuilt parts. They will also refurbish (repair) some parts, color change boards, keyboards, etc.
