I have a EDS III software if you would like to buy it I have Melco single head and 4 additional heads for sale with software for 4000. with all accessories.

I'm back and with some good/bad news.

The good with the proper RSA files i have been able to start up a emc6ml and get it to run designs off of a floppy disk.;)

the bad news i have a RSA file for a emc10 but it will not boot a known good floppy drive Drive was tested on the emc6:mad:

right now the melco RSA server is not functioning,

I have EDS III ver 3.5 software for sale. This is the basic version and I have the dongle which you will need to upgrade the software and save money. I am also checking this week to see if I have another network card. Let me know if you are interested.

Do a Google Search for: Yahoo Groups / Forums Brand / Model Specific or just a Melco Embroidery Machines and/or Software Group. You'll be surprised, there's probably a group and/or Forum that is specific to your machine. I found one on my old 1983 Melco Superstar two.

Over the years, I have found several of these groups very beneficial. Folks on site for a specific brand / model have "been there~done that" and are more than sympathetic to your needs and will reply with many helpful suggestions.

It costs nothing to join these groups / forums and you will only benefit, if not, no biggie to close your account at any time, costs you nothing but a little time.

Call Melco and be very forceful and demand to talk to the head of service. If you are forceful with them and demanding you will get the service you need, you just need to get over the head of some of the idiots that work there. They do not want the bad publicity that they are getting with this thread

Go to the Melco-service.com and they will give you some specific options.

If you stay with the Melco ISA Network board you will have to find a computoer that has a motherboard with intel chipset and ISA slot. Also the ISA board will not be able to use Windows XP. The best way to go is Purchase a Melco PCI network board, with a ENS (Embroidery Network System) or Design Shop Lite, or Design Shop Software.

Or pick up a EDS3 or 4 version of melco software and have it upgraded.

Good Luck....

I have to be honest I tried to get HELP from the Melco people and to say the least they were less than helpful. They were very interested in getting more money from me. I do not have problem with paying for help but you would think they were interested in creating a custome base. Anyway I too am having problems getting the software to load into my computer any advise would be great.......

I use ENS from Melco to boot my machine and send designs.
I know it works with EMC and EMT machines.
I use it with an EMt so not sure what you would need for your application.

I have spent a lot of time with melco on the phone and all they want to do is sell me new software for 5500.
I just purchased an external floppy disk drive from this website http://www.embroiderytrainingvideos.com/ and attached to the internal of the machine which melco said you can do, but I amm having some problems with it. Supposedly you attach this and put in boot disk and then you can just put designs on floppy disk and into drive so you would not need any software.

Masis Systems out of Paramus NJ has been very helpfull through the years for me on these kinds of dilemas

I have also Purchased the same Floppy Drive for the Melco EMC 6 $275 And I find out that is does not work with the EMC 6 I have. And there is no returns? To me its stupid tax but I would like to save anyone else the money b/4 they lose it! I have spent 1500 with melco and I still have not been able to get the machine working. Do I need the amaya softwear with the melco machine? I've got design shop and amaya was on the disk . I'm very new to this craft and I think it would be easier to work with NASA! Thanks for any tips you may have!

I have had Melco machines for 19 yrs. Melco is by far the most difficult company to get any service from. They are fast to take your money and slow to give or get your service, and have few service people in California. Heaven forbid if you have an older machine.

Hi Users.

Since 2 Weeks my Melco Maschine is currently not working and i cant fix ist.. Cause the Floppys with the Eds3 Software are destroyed... Dont know how, but the first floppy is formated... so the hdd of my computer is destroyed too, and i get an old computer with isa slot for my old isa melco card... I'm from germany and in germany we havent a melco company... so i called melco company in swiss and melco company in austria... they havent this software, cause they doesnt suppourt the software anymore... i write a email to melco in the usa and they doesnt write me back.. dont know why.. so now i found this forum and hope some one of u can help me and give me the eds3 software and the ens..

realy need your help!

thank you!

I have been having some issues with the external floppy drive as well. However, today i was READING THE MANUAL, and it says to "Insert the boot disk" and then "HOLD DOWN THE ENTER KEY",until the machine reads the disk. I will be trying this to see if this fixes the problem of not booting from the floppy.

As far as software/hardware for EDS 3, you won't get it cheap, but you can sometimes find it on ebay or at "embroideryyellowpages.com" a sort of embroidery clearing house.

Hope this helps.

what u want for the eds3 software?
i just want the copys of the disks, not the original floppys...
