Moving 10/12 Challenger

Exactly what I was dumbly explaining regarding building a little table / box with the feet...Those are great pix man. Im supprised someone as old as Robbie has the same Lincoln Log Brain like a young, good looking, 3/4 drunk :) whipper snapper like myself.

I have delivered 7 Automatics, Put them on the truck and removed them from the truck. The best way that I have found is to...

(First thing first..go buy a few 2" x 4" and 4inch decking Screws & Washers to fit)
(also need a Cordless Drill and a Saw)

1. Put Auto-matic Base over Centered between rear wheels and the front of Box Truck.
A. Take Ratchet Locking Straps and Secure on Left & Right Side of Penske Looping around the base so base wont move left/right.
B. Use Screws and Washers and Secure to the Floor thru the feet of the Auto
(-if not applicable, Use 2x4's and build little "box" over feet or just two 2x4's around press base, Screwed to the floor of Penske-to keep press from moving Front to Back)
2. Take your Heads, and lay them on floor in Front of Box and around the base.
A. Cut yer 2"x4" longer than the ScreenClamps. Slide 2"x4" into clamp and Screw Decking Screws into the part of 2x4 that "sticks out" past the Screen Clamps.
3. Your Stations, you may line up against the wall, and use more Ratcheting Tie downs to attached firmly to the wall of Penske.
A. All Penkse have the Tie down supports along the inside walls. This works great when using you Ratchet Straps.

Now when It comes to Removing the Base of Auto ...

1. Have Fork Lift / Pallet Jack
2. Pull Base of Auto Close to the Lift Gate of Truck (you may need to move pallet jack to backside of the Auto..and "push" the base to the lift gate)
3. If you have fork lifts long enuff, then just pick up and put into desired location.
4. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FORK EXTENSTIONS :
A. Get the ForkLift Arms as far under the auto as you can.
B. USE THE RATCHET STRAP and STRAP TO FORKLIFT, ALSO TILT FORKLIFT ARMS "UP" TWORDS FORKLIFT (basically pick it up and tilt base twords forklift. then use ratchet straps to secure to Lift.)
C. Run like Heck, No really tho, make sure no one is in the DROP ZONE of Auto IF something Were TO GO WRONG..
D. You may have to use the Lift Gate of the Penske to help get auto down. Still Use Ratchets to Keep AutoBase Safetly attached to Forklift.

THE ONLY THING ABOUT A WRECHER IS THE ANGLE THAT THEY MAY HAVE THE PRESS ON...IT PROBABLY CANT BE GOOD...PLUS WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO USE TO GET IT OFF? YOUR ARMS? DEFINATLY NOT A PALLET JACK AT ANY ANGLE...GOOD LUCK IF YOU USE A WRECKER...REALLY NEED A PENSKE

RWB should be on this like flies on chit if he really is who he says he is.

My suggestions. Get fork extensions just to be sure, usually about $15 to rent
for a couple hours.

Not sure how far you're moving it, but typically you want the base up front near
the cab, braced and blocked. RWB has a post on here with good pictures on how to do this.

If you're only going that far you may be better with a tilt-flatbed. Most wreckers will move
equipment fairly cheaply. You'd negate the forklift as well, just put the heads on pallets and strap down.
