M&R Challenger III 12/14 and Sprint 2000

Ann Arbor, MI, United States

Challenger III from 2010, Sprint 2000 from 2011. Sprint 2000 was bought new by us, Challenger III was bought second hand off the east coast - installed in our shop May 2014. Available approximately mid August. We are moving and installing new equipment instead of moving these into the new building. Full details below.

Challenger III total print count 2.51 million and counting - still in use today up until we move. We will know exact date this can be picked up by about the end of July. Print count from previous shop was 4-5 million. They were rougher prints and we have done a lot part replacement on the press. Head 3 is out of commission, which we find doesn’t affect the press since that is always a cool down station or where the first flash unit is. Press is at 98% right now so just needs a little more work to have no issues at all. It does have slight registration issues at times. Some days are completely problem free, some days take a few adjustments.
-M&R updated the press firmware to the latest that could work with the hardware. Index buttons on heads do double click to lock into place for instance. This reset the counter on the machine.
-Front frame holders were sent into M&R in 2’s to update to sturdier design
2 were completely new with this update process
-All forks and bearings replaced by M&R tech less than a week after initial install
-We have replaced at least 8 of the valves at back of heads
-24v power supply replaced in 2017
-Several squeegee choppers replaced
-Close to half of the screen drop down cylinders replaced
-Squeegee/floodbar clamps replaced - about 10
-One print head motor replaced
-Several frame holder air cylinders replaced
-Prox sensors, yellow cables, other misc parts also replaced
-Overall close to 20K put into press over last 3-4 years
-Comes with 16x22 platens
-S/N 041081658C
-$68K, crated in M&R crates, buyer arranges and pays freight

Sprint 2000 comes with new belt! Will include old one on machine now as backup as well. 60" wide belt, 12' of heat, 8' in/out, standard sizing. Natural gas dryer.
-Replaced main blower bearings in mid 2017
-Replaced gas modulator in early 2017
-Just replaced conveyor motor in April 2018
-Comes with new belt!
-Runs great!
-S/N 051184897S
-$25K, crated in M&R crates, buyer arranges and pays freight

Both pieces of equipment can be checked out any time, they will be in use until approximately end of July then crated in August some time. It could more further out but we will know closer to that time.

Bump still looking for a buyer for the CH3. Having a tech take it apart and crate it by the end of the month so it can be seen running (without printing - no flashes/dryer present) if someone acts fast.
