We consider buying a registration system for our press and are a bit undecided between the M&R tri loc and the Newman PinLock system. The price speaks for the M&R tri loc but the newman PinLock seems to be more precise.
How do you guys feel about those 2 different systems?

Re: M&R tri loc vs Newman PinLock
There are probably a fair amount of industry veterans that have used both systems but I don't know of any that use this site. I've studied both of them and it's my opinion that they both will give you similar results. I don't see how one could really outperform the other but i could be wrong. The triloc is considerably cheaper and that's the system I have right now. I just set it up this week and don't have much experience using it yet. I like the newman system but you have to have the pin adapters on every screen in your inventory which isn't cheap, and using static aluminums requires them to be installed which is a good bit of labor. With the triloc, you don't have to have any special pins and any screen system will work. I like that the newman system has the swing out arms permanently on the press and you don't have to take a pallet jig on and off.
Maybe there is someone out there that has a good bit of experience with both systems, and I'd be willing to bet that they both are very close in performance. They will only be as good as the guy who is using it though.

I have used both, and I prefer the triloc. Just easier. But if you are sloppy on the carrier side, its useless.

Pollchaps, I am curious if you use the vastex registration on an M&R auto?
