I have a Melco EMC 1. The machine was sewing fine. The problem now is that the take-up lever moves up and down, however, the needle bar does not. I have replaced the reciprocator, solenoid, and the needle bar. I reset the timing. The needle bar will lock down and start sewing. However, any time it stops for a color change, etc, the need bar stops moving and I have to lock down manually again. It appears that both clamps are set fine. Still the same problem. Any ideas? Thank you for any assistance.
Re: Need Help Troubleshooting
the upper dead point stopper is too low. engage needle bar in recip. rotate shaft until needle bar reaches the highest upward movement(zero degrees). the upper dead point stopper and cushion should be gently hitting the top of the casting. sometimes, changing the recip. requires resetting the upper and lower settings on the ndl bar(s), since you said it sews fine, just adjust the upper.
