Hi, its me again,
got another problem. I was cleaning and lubing my Toyota 850 today. When I was done, I put the covers back on, turned on the machine and got a needle change error, and the threading tube assembly bounces around on the gears for the threading tube assembly motor. I can't clear the error message and can't get the machine to do anything else through the control panel until I do. When I shut down, I was embroidering a one color job, so there was no color changing in process. And before anyone asks, no I do not mean needle case error. Any idea how to fix this. It just cost me about $500.00 for a tournament that I was supposed to work today.
Thank you for any help that anyone can give me.
Tony
Re: needle change error
I think the machine has a reset buton .Press it
Turn with hand a litle right or left the color change motor to be in correct position
Re: needle change error
Or
Turn with hand a litle right or left the color change motor to be in correct position
If is necessary press the reset buton
Re: needle change error
My guess is that it is a faulty power supply box. I had the same problem with mine. I tried everything (sensors, needle change card, etc.). Then I plugged the machine into the power supply of one of my other 850s and the problem was solved. Power supply box. I ordered a new power supply card made by Cosel. $10 on eBay. I hope this post helps others!

Re: needle change error
this is a video of the machine and what it is doing. Once it gets to this point, The machine is stuck. The only thing that clears the error message, is to push the emergency stop. This clears the error, but then the control panel is frozen, and no matter what I push, it does nothing. The same is true if I put the dip switch into test mode. Same error, then frozen control panel.
The video won't load here, so I put it on Youtube. Here is the link

Re: needle change error
put the machine at fix position 100 deg
turn with hand color change motor and see if you can move (moving head) from a needle to next needle
if yes put the moving head in correct position for what needle you want .press CL buton
if no you must see what is wrong behind moving head ,color change sistem
verify color change potentiometer
Re: needle change error
I can't check to see what degree the position is at, because that requires using the control panel in test mode. I can move the head back and forth with no problem. When I put the machine in test mode, I still get the error, and no possibility of using the controls. The error message clears if I push the emergency stop, but then the control box is frozen, nothing works. You can call me if you like to try talking me through this

Re: needle change error
I saw this once and had a needle broke off in the bobbin hook. Had to carefully remove the hook and bobbin to get to it. After I removed it I turned the dial to the 100 degree mark and the reset worked.
Re: needle change error
where is this 100 degree mark on my toyota 850
Re: needle change error
try to adjust manualy needle position, you must see on display needle number
verify color change sensor(potentiometer)
Re: needle change error
no, that doesn't work. As I said, I can't do anything in the control panel. It just flashes needle change error.
