My name is Austin and I am looking to start a new embroidery business. I know nothing about embroidery exept what I have read and disscussed with some people. I'm looking to start a mobile buisness, targeting sporting events and conventions. What suggestions do you have for me to start?
Re: Newbie looking to start business
Keep it simple:
1. Limit the number of designs/fonts/thread colors you'll offer. This will make it easier to make samples.
2.Research potential events to discover how many people attend, who attends, how much they buy, what they buy and how many competitors you'll have.
3.Take orders - you won't be able to complete all your orders at the show so have an "easy to complete" order form and decide ahead of time how you'll handle shipping costs.
3.Have a second person so one person can watch your machine (which you'll want to keep running) while the other person takes orders.
4.Purchase business insurance that includes coverage incase your machine is damaged or someone is injured

If you are near an ISS show, go to one. You will see all the machine vendors, supplies and blanks. issshows.com
