Opinions on Baby Lock BMP 6

Hello again,
I've been doing allot research on start-up machines and have narrowed it down to a few. The Baby Lock BMP6 is at the top of my list (at least for now). I understand the machine is made by Brother and is similar to the PR600, but is slightly more capable.
I'd like to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly about these machines from those who own or have experience with them.

thanks,

The only difference, and I mean the ONLY difference is the color of the machine. Everything about the two machines is exactly the same. If you talk to a Babylock dealer, they will tell you it is better than Brother and if you talk to a Brother dealer, they might tell you it is better than Babylock. Why? Because they don't want you to buy somewhere else!

If you talk to an honest dealer, they will tell you they are exactly the same. It just depends on who gives better service and that comes down to the person selling you the machine, not the machine.

Hope that helps.

I used to run babylocks / brothers. I had 2 babylock, and 1 brother. They are completely identical, with the exception of the color of plastic, lol.

The only issues I have found with them is the thread break detectors, the pads wear out on the rotary discs, causing false thread breaks. I do believe it is somewhat of a design flaw as all 3 of my machines had the same problem. Its easily fixed by replacing the pads, which are fairly cheap and you can buy them from brothe directly.

Other than that, they were pretty good machines for me. I never did caps on them though.

You can't go wrong with the BMP 6 or Brother PR.

I would go for the PR620 versus the PR600II because it gives your 60mm design hight on caps and not 50mm like the older PR600II.

I personally owned one and I loved it, I have moved onto Tajima NEO2 now.

Thanks
