Troubleshooting Tajima Electrical

Ok so I have an older Tajima 2 head (TMFX-C1202) that is having a problem with constant false thread breaks and will only sew a few stitches in between the 291 code. I have done some diagnostic testing but I can seem to find the cause. It has been a problem on this machine for a few years but has come to the point of not wanting to sew.

It doesn't matter what needle it is on or which head it is. If I unplug the sensors from the Tension base pc card it will sew fine but of course I loose the thread break detection. I have also tested each wire in the cable (CN-2 cable) that runs from the tension base card to the main card for each head and they seam fine.

If anyone else has had this problem or may know what it might be please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help:)

was your problem isolated to 1 needle on 1 head or was it triggering on all needles/heads?

Thanks for your help

I have a 1996 TMEX C1201.. Started having the thread break sensor issues about 1 year ago. I ordered a new card and it kept having same issues. About a month later my machine started to slow down on trims and just didn't seem to have the power that it used to. Come to find out my 24V power supply was going bad. $631.00 later... runs like a champ and thread break sensor works too.

Desable from the panel first under thread sensor and after upper thread sensor.
Make tests !
Check the cable between tension base and the back side of the machine.
Also is possible to be wrong setting for tension base card.
To change the setting you must reconfigure your machine.

TURN OFF THE POWER AND WAIT TO DISPLAY TO BE OFF
KIP PRESS F3 AND TURN ON THE POWER
NOW YOU CAN RECONFIGURE THE MACHINE

NORMALY FOR TENSION BASE CARD ARE TWO VALUE-TB1 AND TB2
IF YOU SET THE WRONG CARD THE MACHINE WILL STOP FOR FLSE THREAD BREAKAGE.
PAY ATTENTION ALSO FOR FDD SETTING.IF THE SETTING IS WRONG THE MACHINE WILL NOT READ THE DISK.

ACCORDING WITH VERSION OF SOFTWARE YOU CAN HAVE ONE SETTING OR MORE(FDD,TB,NR. OF COLOURS.........)

what year is the tajima?? mine is a 99, also had the same problem. is it on both heads or only one?? honestly if yours is like 96-99 ish i find the thread break sensors dont work anyway. so i disabled mine, yes i dont have thread detection but also im watching a 12 head with no detection, i think thread detection is only necessary when your not watching the machine, if your always by the machines side, i wouldn't worry too much about disabling it.
its worked for me now for about 3 years. It could be so many things, i didn't have the strength to look into it so i just lived without it,

I have a 99 4 head and was getting a lot of false TB's. Turns out somehow, one of my rotary tensions discs got bent somehow and that was freaking the machine out. Also check to make sure none of the spring break sensors aren't bent.

If not, I'd call your local service tech.

Hope that helps.
