Looking for starter machine

I just want to be able to print my logo and the logo for our lab rescue group onto things - I want to do this from home. I'm not trying to start a business - I just want to enjoy the machine and do things for friends/rescue. I don't have a lot of money ( I really shouldn't go over $1,000) I know this is really a small window to work with, but I"m hoping for some advice here. Can anyone help me with info on types of machines that will do what I'm looking for that might be found in my price range? THere's SO much info out there I'm just left feeling very confused.

thanks for any assistance or guidance :)

I have a Singer XL5000 for $1500 that is an awesome machine. It sews and embroiders and is like new.

Where are you located? Does it have any accessories? Is it easy to learn on? (I'm a total beginner)
thanks!!
