I tried to change the #6 needle on my babylock emP6 and I thought I secured it tightly, but right in the middle of embroidery, it fell and broke. I redid it again, it broke again . . the third time I replaced it, I tried to make sure it was secured tightly, even tried to pull it down and nothing happened so I thought I finally did it right . . but then when I started it, it fell once again and broke but this time I got an error message that says " main motor lock" :( the manual says if this appears to consult the nearest authorized dealer . .does this mean I need to actually take it to get it repaired or is there a way to fix this problem without having to take it :( . . hope someone has a positive answer for me :( I need to finish this project tonight :(
Re: Major Help
*UGH*
I know what that means ... it means that the needle broke INSIDE the hook. This sucks, its a one in a million shot too, you just got "lucky" err, well, unlucky rather. The broken piece of the needle is more than likely wedged inside, in between the hook and the race. The only way to do this is to take the hook out of the machine, apart, and then put it back together and re-time the machine. If you are not familiar with machine timing it would be in your best interest to have a dealer or a professional do it.
I've had this happen to me before, turn the wheel on the back of the machine, does it move? Probably not.
Re: Major Help
yes that is my guess and you are probably right  . . I just tried to take out the plate but don't see the needle anywhere :( . . .
no the hand wheel WON'T move :( . . . I already called the store and so will bring it tomorrow . . .my neighbor is coming to help me move this humongous piece of machine to my car  thanks for your reply . . .much appreciated
