card/reader writer box

Does anyone know if you can just purchase the card/reader writer box for the pe design program. Brother's site is not much help. Thanks in advance. I now see that you can buy the ped basic software which has the card/reader writer box. Does anyone know if you can run the version 7 software if you get this basic software? I have version 7 upgrade but I keep getting the message " no card/reader box found". Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks.
