Capillary film solution Require Urgent ??

I am a Screen manufacturer from India. We prepare and supply Ready to print Screens all over India. We have complete setup of Screen Stretcher, UV Exposure, Oven etc for the same. Over the last 7 years we have been using ULANO DLX emulsion with great success. But now I am faced with a challenge for which I need desperate help. I need to prepare special purpose screens as per the following specs :-

1. The mesh is stainless steel
2. The coating should be precisely 20 microns / 30 microns.
3. The designs have lines with width 80 microns and 120 microns. These lines should get printed achieving the same dimensions in the print.
4. The printing done using these screens, is with Silver / Aluminium paste.

What I have been suggested is that I should use Capillary film instead of Emulsion to achieve a precise coating thickness. My questions are as follows :-

1. Since I have never used capillary film, how can I learn how to use it. Any internet link or material, explaining the process will be highly helpful.
2. Which capillary film to use, and what care to be taken, to get precision as well as long life of the screen.

Any help for the above will be highly appreciated...

To adhere film to screens, I had the best results using dry screens, with film on a raised surface such as a piece of glass, cover with newsprint, and thin spray a light mist of water over the area, and watch the capillary action.

As far as long life is concerned, after the capillary film has dried, add one coat of emulsion
of similar brand i.e. 80 mic. ulano, CDF, and ulano stencil material. on the squeegee side.

Hi, Yes it can be a little difficult to move from emulsion coating to capillary film application. However, you will find some excellent videos to help you here:

If you are looking to get 30 microns proud of the mesh on the substrate side of your screen you would be looking for a 40 or 50 micron film to do this. You will also find that stainless steel mesh draws in more of the capillary film than polyester mesh does so you need a thicker film.
