We do a fair amount of business with sports teams so we are often doing name personalization of caps, jackets and hoodies. Up until now I've been doing separate DST files for each name but this is a chore. I understand that you can have a DST file with all of a team's player names and then have the machine stop after each name, swap out the garment and then do the next name. I understand how to get the machine to stop when there are consecutive colour changes of the same colour but don't know how to set up the DST file. I am using Pulse DG/ML software.
HELP!
Thanks!

Re: Help setting up a name DST file (Tajima)
not sure on your specific software.. but in mine we have a "namedrop" function when doing keyboarding? we type in one name then hit the "namedrop" button and up pops a screen where we can type in as many names or phrases as we want.. each time we hit the enter button it goes to the next line... when outputting it puts all of the lines on top of each other with a stop command between each.

Re: Help setting up a name DST file (Tajima)
I'm having trouble explaining it, but I have a dst file I can send you to try.
I do numbers on the back of caps for Little League and club ball, so do a pretty good amount of these in the spring and fall.
Thanks,

Re: Help setting up a name DST file (Tajima)
Set up all your names, make each one of them a different color and then align them all at vertical center and horizontal center. When you load the design into your machine, put the same color in for each name ( 15 names, 15 navy thread #2) and it will automatically stop after each name and give you a 1b2 error code. Do a manual trim and change out your garments. There might be a better way but I've been doing it like this for 18 years with good success.
Re: Help setting up a name DST file (Tajima)
The only problem I see with one large design is that you won be able to trace the particular name as the entire design will be traced. Of they are large names etc you may end up with limit error of some sort. Just a heads up. I've been sending names individually so that way I can load name and rotate if needed or whatever.

Oh my gosh what a great idea! Makes me feel stupid for not thinking about it already. I have been doing embroidery for 10 years and our machine is 10 years old so I am still loading every design individually. Thank you, you just saved me tons of time!
