Tajima TEJTII-C1501 USB and Network question

We have a Taima NEO 2 in our shop, we have had it for a few years now, but I am really getting tired of sneaker netting the floppies between the computer and the machine. Since the floppy drive on the Tajima is a USB connection, I wonder why I can't just plug in a USB stick to the port on the machine? Seems like and easy fix, but apparently not. As far as I can see, I need a floppy emulator to connect the USB stick to the USB port, which just seems weird.

Also I would like to set this up to run of of the network we have at home. The Neo 2 comes with a LAN port, so is there anything special we need to do to get the machine to connect to our computer? we are using Pulse DG/ML 10.2 but I have not had any success getting it to talk to the Embroidery machine yet.

Any assistance would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

First off, we don't have a Neo 2 so take that into consideration. We do have Toyota 9100's which are almost identical. For the 9100's, you have to change from COM to LAN in test mode on the machine. Look in your user manual for "test mode" dipswitch settings and anything about changing from COM to LAN mode settings.

As for USB, the 9100's have a USB next to the LAN port. I would assume the Neo 2 does as well but that may be one of the minor differences in the machines. If you want to import a design from USB, it's just a menu option for data input and changing it from PC to USB on the 9100.

I have a 2010 Neo2 and db/ml Pulse 2009. I have it networked. You have to run it through a router. When my machine was at home, I connected an Ethernet cable from the machine to the household router and from the router to the computer. Now, it's at a shop and go from the machine to the router and then my router talks wirelessly to my laptop. I'm about to change that to hard wire. The biggest pain with the shop setup is the precise order. Boot the computer and make sure it's talking to the router. Then start the software and before you do anything else, turn the machine on. Once the machine is on, go back to the computer and check to make sure the software sees the machine. Tools > Options > Machine Settings, I think. If the software doesn't see the machine after a minute or 2, then turn every thing off, close the software, and reboot the computer. I feel like it's very touchy. Also there's a LAN vs. USB setting on the machine in the startup.

At home I have one router piggyback onto another router. One thing I had to make sure of was that the ethernet from the machine to the router and from the router to the computer had to be on the same box. I couldn't plug one into box 1 and one into box 2.
