Hi, another newbie

Hello! :) I am new to the forum. I have been looking to get into embroidery for a while now. I've been looking at machines and comparing. My problem lies in that every machine claims they are the best. I'd love to hear from some of you that love your machines and recommendations you have.

I would like to start off small, I'm doing this from home and will be part time. (Looking mostly for a hobby that I will enjoy and make money on! :) ). I'd like one that I can put my own images in such as my son's school logo so I can make shirts for him and such.

Any information anyone wouldn't mind sharing about your machine and recommendations, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!
Alesha

I've seen a lot of home embroiders start with the Brother PR600II or the Babylock. take a look at sewingmachine.com.

for a step up from there, I really love the Melco Amaya XT (melcousa.com). I have one in my shop and love it. Great machine and easy to use. From there, you would move into something multihead like a Tajima, Baraundan, or SWF.

Have a great day! :)

Hi, I started off with a Husqvarna Quilt Designer II. At the time, I thought it was great, certainly got me going. But, it wasn't long before I wanted something bigger and better!! A couple of months, and I got a PR600. Absolutely love it. 6 needles, cuts the jump threads, stitches neatly. I know there are better ones out there, but my advice is, if you really are keen, then go for a 6 needle machine rather than a single needle, because it won't be long before you want to upgrade! Best of luck. mino

Thank you so much for the replies. :) I really appreciate the information!
