Embroidery or Engraving?

Went to a NBM show to look at a Tajima TFMX-1501 and got interested in sublimation, then decided I would rather get into laser engraving.
Dont have the money for both, and the wife said which do you think would be more profitable.

Engraving or embroidery?

Thanks for the suggestions. The thing about a laser is it can do glass, wood, marble, acrylic, even you kitchen cabinets or your house.

Ah well, let a little more time pass so the wife can get over me just buying a 80w laser.
I still want a Tajima.

When I saw the Tajima's at the NBM show I really wanted one, but when I saw JDS's catalog and the enormous amount of materials that can be engraved or cut I decided I will give it a try.

It is scheduled to be delivered this thursday.

I do both. My 5 embroidery heads run 10 hours a day, there are days I do not turn on my laser. I learned a long time ago that just because I CAN do something, doesn't mean the market is there to buy it. Good luck to you.

Hi Dennis, How you getting on with your new engraver. I've just started using one of these at my place of work (well about 9 months in I think). They do seem to be somewhat finiky but gradually I'm getting ideal settings documented.

Dennis,
If you can figure out how to engrave on Chrome Vanadium or dropped forged steel Mechanics, speed shops, adn tool reps will flock to you.
