I have a message on my swf 601c that is UPPER THREAD CUT STOP, does anyone know what this means and what I can do to fix it?

It probably means that the tension spring on top thread is not getting off the brass. If the tension feels right, loosen the hex nut the immobilizes the top tension wheel, crack it loose and put a screw driver between the two splines of the split screw ends and turn it counter clockwise until the tension spring comes off the brass, and then retighten the hex. Done.
