I just started a new job and they have a Riley Hopkins 4/6 with the joystick registration. I was very skeptical of this press out of the gate because I cut my teeth on an Antec Legend. After screwing with RH for a couple of months now I realize that the floating head registration system is actually really easy to use and the press holds registration amazingly well. So I was just wondering what other peoples opinions were on it.
Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
Its a good press in my opinion
Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
My first press was a Hopkins 4x4 with joystick, and it's still in use. I also have the riley hopkins aero 8x8 that is my workhorse.
Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
Like the RH but went with the X/Y registration. Buying second Aero 6/4 for the shop in the coming weeks and really like tools free adjustment.
Quick, smooth, and in the t-shirt groove!

Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
I still swear by the basic Hopkins press. Rear clamp and a hammer is all I've ever needed.
Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
We have 2 of them 6/4 with joystick. Good presses. They take a minute to get used to but hold up just fine. We also have a 6/4 with micros. They don't touch our Hopkins International or Vastex presses that we have. Of course the Riley Hopkins are a fraction of the price. I would say Riley Hopkins makes a great press for the price point, joystick or micro.
Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
I've heard only good things about the RH presses, in my opinion their design is nice along with their booshie press colors.
Hopkins on the other hand probably makes some of the most garbage equipment i've ever used.

Re: Riley Hopkins. Yeah or Nay??
I just got a RH 6/4 with joystick. And for some reason I cant get the off contact to stay when I loosen the micro. Once I loosen my micros the screen lays on the board, and then makes registration a pain. Once I tighten the micros it returns to my set contact. Has anyone here had this issue? Do they really expect me to hold the screen up and use the joystick? Then tighten them down while holding the screen in place?
