Why do you have to be so far away! I have been looking for a good deal on one of these! I am sure shipping would kill it due to the size and hassle.

Give me your opinion on how you think this would work for a screen storage cabinet

This cabinet is available at Lowes for $129
Ameriwood 72"H x 48"W x 21"D Multi-Purpose Cabinet
Item #: 93028 | Model #: 7306015

I looked at it today and it seems it would work well just need to put some wood strips where the shelf pre drilled holes are to hold the screens. Looks like it could hold two rows of 20x24 screens -- with door shut it would be totally dark and protect from dust etc.

Any one see any problems with this working as described? I think I am going to purchase and use as described above unless someone sees any problems with it.

It sounds like it would work. I would take 2 screens with me to lowes and see. With it being 48" wide it may be to snug. Is there a dividing wall in the middle or is it open?

Like your thinking!! Outside the box!!!

Let us know!

Yes it does have a dividing wall in middle so it might not work for 2 rows of 20x24 but should work for 2 rows of 19x23. Could take the middle wall out for 20 x24 or it has an open shelf at the top so could use the top for 2 o3 20 x24 and use the bottom for 19 x23 or could take the middle wall out.

Still looks like an inexpensive way to get a screen storage cabinet, that should be easy to put together and serve the purpose.

Used restaurant supply stores are your friend. I buy "bakers racks ready made for 23x 31 auto frames for around $50

Yep, that is a good idea.

Bakers rack seems like a great idea but I have searched the internet and cannot find any for any cheaper than racks specifically made for screens. Anyone got a source for the bakers racks that are in this $50 range?

Don't know if you'd find them online. And shipping will hurt you. You'll have to look at local used restaurant equipment companies. Don't know if they'll be as low as $50, but you never know!

And if the OP was closer to me, I'd buy this screen cart. But too far for me...There is never anything good for sale in the Northwest :( . Maybe business is too good up here? :D
