Screen Printing Machine

Hello, I am making a decision to buy a screen printing machine, 4 x 4. I am very newbie so what would you guys think about Hopkins? Please share your experiences and ideas. I also need a dryer (flash and belt) and exposure unit.

Best regards,
- Hobi

Agree with Brannon. Now just to be clear there are 2 "Hopkins", 1 is Riley Hopkins which has the 'joystick' you should stay away from, they do have upgrades for standard xy micros. The other is Hopkins-BWM which is what I own (convertible model) dont get any brands entry level press unless its an M&R Sidewinder or Anatols Lightning. I feel their 'entry levels' are a step above everyone elses.

Manuals, I think can't go past MnR sidewinder / chameleon or second manufacturer to check out is Vastex for solid, smooth, quick to set, long longevity, nice to swing around, good resale value. You spend a lot of time at a carousel, you need one you are in harmony with and can feel the rhythm and balance. Makes a world of difference.

I've gotten dirty with a Workhorse freedom - didn't have any chance to work with a lot but this one can do light on dark one color prints with one screen...

How do you get from a manual Hopkins and a newbie to an automatic Freedom?

Hobi.
Hope you got a good machine and are making some $$$ by now.
Just a warning, as you get busier, and if you decide to purchase an automatic machine, stay away from Robert Barnes! There are many other great companies/people to purchase from. Robert Barnes has taken money from many without delivering the product.
Just read below and feel free to call any of the people that he stole from.

Good luck!

BUYERS BEWARE!
If you are thinking of purchasing any type of screen printing equipment, I highly advise you to stay clear of Robert Barnes from Spider Machines. He sells Printex,Mustang Printers and has several business fronts.

Since your purchase is going to be a very big decision, I recommend that you research Robert Barnes so that you can see for yourself, that he has not only stolen from printing companies, but has also sold equipment falsely advertised as well as not working properly, or not even delivered the equipment.
Below is a quick copy and past of a few members here on this forum that will honestly tell their story of how Robert Barnes has ripped them off. I suggest that you take a few moments to read it, and if you follow up by contacting these people, they will surely convince you not to do business with him or his company!

Robert Barnes goes by many alias' on this forum...more than can be counted.
Ask the following people on this forum about their experience with Robert Barnes, or private message me here!
