I'm a junior in highschool that wants to do a type of screenprinting intership (preferably paid, of course), but I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone know of some small screenprinting businesses in Portland? I know there must be a lot. I'm trying to stay away from big corporate places so I can get my hands on something and really learn.
Thanks!
Re: Screenprinting in Portland, OR
There is nothing wrong with working for a big corporate place. You'll get a pay check and still learn what you want. It may take longer or less, but that can still be an advantage. That would only mean that you can get paid more to learn the many different parts of screen printing, and there is a lot to learn.
Good luck to you with that, hope you find a cool place to work.

Hi Becca,
I used to work as a screen printer in Portland, Oregon. Try Mentor Graphics. Make sure you state that you want an "Entry Level" position. They usually will start you out in the screen cleaning position, so you can see how the operation is run.
Good Luck!
