SWF 1501 SINGLE HEAD QUESTION

First I am new to this. I recently purchased a SWF 1501 single head embroidery machine. This machine has the SUNSTAR CONTROL PANEL (no screen) . I have made great progress in figuring things out, but I am at a point I want to ask questions.
My question today is how do I use the control panel to assign the order in which the needles sew. I can get to that function on the key pad. But from there I am lost even with the factory manual. I need to know the steps to do this on the key pad. Hope I'm making sense, and Thanks in advance.
