Tajima and Barudan machines

We use both Tajima and Barudan machines in my shop. They are both great. I prefer the Barudan though, as they are better at the fine details and are a little smoother on intricate designs. I like their cap system too, seem to have less problems with registration.

Tajima's I find to have a more user friendly control panel, and their chenille machines run beautifully. I find that the Tajima's are a little easier to work on if maintenance is needed.

If you can afford to buy new, by all means do. When buying a new machine you will (usually) get training for free, delivery, and set-up by professionals. They won't leave until your machine is running. If you buy used, just make sure the machine has been well maintained, and get a feel for the person selling it. If they are selling it due to hard times and need the money, those are the best machines to buy, because most of the time they have no issues, the sellers just need money. Try not to buy a used one out of a high-volume production shop, as they are not taken care of as well as they should be.

Glad you made the switch from SWF, they are awful machines. I had to take them to court over the machine I bought!

We use Barudan machines in our plants, and have had very good luck with them. If you're looking for a used machine, check out Barudan Refurbishing. They have good prices and good machines.
